Nikko Tosho-gu / 日光東照宮

Tosho-gu was dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate(government). Initially built in 1617, during the Edo period, while Ieyasu's son Hidetada was shogun, it was enlarged during the time of the third shogun, Iemitsu. Ieyasu is enshrined this mausoleum.

1. Admission Time

  • 8:00 to 17:00 (01 April through 31 October)
  • 8:00 to 16:00 (01 November through 31 March)
  • Admission closes 30 minutes before closing time.

2. Admission Fee

Nikko Tosho-gu (Admission to all parts of Shrine)
