Rinno-ji / 輪王寺

Founded for the faith to mountain and its god in Nara period(8th century). In Edo period(17th-19th century), prospered by patronage of Tokugawa shogunate. This shrine is tne of the world heritage in Nikko Japan as same as being National tresure and National important cultural property.

1. Admission Time

  •  8:00 to 17:00 (01 April through 31 October)
  • 8:00 to 16:00 (01 November through 31 March) 
  • Admission closes 30 minutes before closing time.

Rinno-ji Sanbutsudo ONLY

  • Child : JPY450-. (12 years old and/or below)

Treasure House and Shoyoen Garden

  • Adult : JPY300-.
  • Child : JPY100-. (12 years old and/or below)

*1)Ticket covers Thosho-gu, and Futarasan Shrine. However, does NOT include admission to Rinno-ji's Treasure House and Shoyoen Garden.

By Car

On Tohoku High Way, take Nikko Utsunomiya Road from Utsunomiya IC and Exit Nikko IC. Rinno-ji is located on 2.5km away from Nikko IC by Route 119.
